church decided in Acts 15, that all foods are clean and should be received with thanksgiving. That’s what Paul meant when he wrote, “[I]t [the food] is consecrated by the word of God and prayer” (1 Tim. 4:5). The Scriptures say that the food is “clean” and prayer consecrates the food to the Lord so that He can use it to sustain us. (That doesn’t mean that all foods are good for all of us. If you’re diabetic, as I am, it will take more than the Word and prayer to make a big piece of key lime pie “clean”
